Feeling his age...

My husband turns 41 years old tomorrow. He looks like he is about 29 years old in the opinion of most people. I don't think you would ever suspect he is as old as he is if you didn't know him. I believe having young children is a factor in this. Most of the people we know who are our age have children graduating high school or heading to college. This isn't to say my husband doesn't feel his age. I have noticed him complaining more about aches and pains in the last year. I think the impact of being in a car accident last year and breaking his leg had a big impact on how his body feels. He may no longer be wearing ankle or donjoy knee braces but that doesn't mean he is as strong as he used to be. It took him a long time to recover anything resembling a normal gait after his accident.Today I can see it in his eyes when he says something hurts. It goes to show that you can't judge a book by the cover. Just because he looks like a younger man doesn't mean that he feels the same on the inside. I am just thankful that he is here and able to walk at all.
