It is starting...

This week I receive and email indicating that I need to get lists together of potential gifts that people can buy my children. I always hate putting these lists together because no one ever listens to me. My children are the type of kids who don't play with videos games but would rather have a great book. You can be sure that if I put down books, pajamas, and CD player that they will be given remote controlled airplanes and BB guns. What makes it all the more frustrating is that the people asking for these gifts expect gifts in return but won't give me a clue as to what to get them. I have the notion of making my life simple and giving them Red Envelope christmas plants. I would love to give them something homemade but I know that they won't appreciate it in the slightest. They already make fun of my homemaking efforts such as canning, cheese making, and knitting. I know that giving them something crafted with my own two hands would be a pointless gesture destine for the trash.
