Locking things up...
For quite a while I have been considering dropping my Facebook account. I have become more than a little disgusted with the never ending changes that keep happening on it in regards to personal privacy. The reality is that most of our personal information is already out there on the web because of the breeches that have occurred in regards to what information Facebook shares. Aside from that I am beginning to realize that it isn't fun having to censor everything you say. I keep a very small circle of friends on Facebook. The problem is that some of the people in that circle have these circles of 300-500 friends. Many of these people are simply classmates from high school that we all knew "once upon a time". I don't consider people I once knew to be a friend nor do I want them knowing my business. For example my husband found out from a woman he works with about something I mentioned on my Facebook page. I don't know this person but she knows someone in my circle who mentioned this statement to my husband's co-worker. That is not the type of stuff I need to deal with. Thankfully what was said was harmless but irksome nonetheless. Tonight I spent a fair amount of time locking down my Facebook account so that very little of what I say can be seen or read by people who don't really need to see it.
