A smaller Christmas...

Buying Christmas presents is always a stressful time in our house. We try very hard to make the holidays a special time for our children. We don't spoil them with toys and stuff during the year but do tend to go overboard around the holidays. Last year was one of those years. My children were given so many video games it was crazy. This year I have made it quite clear that we will not be listening to requests for an xbox or Nintendo DS. There will be no whining about how badly they need an Xbox Live or a PSP3 because we will not be buying these items. If the children want them they are welcome to request these items from their grandparents who will be more than happy to comply with their requests. Their parents, however, will not be going overboard this year and will instead be focusing on making happy memories with their kids in a different way. We have a Wii that hardly get used and that is just going to have to do for now.
