Things are different now...

We live in a community that is considered pretty safe by just about any standards. Last week were shocked to read about a violent crime that happened at a local recreation spot. A young couple out enjoying the day were violently assaulted by a stranger. I can only say I am shocked and am definitely more diligent about using our deadbolt locks. Safety is forefront in my mind now so more than ever. Our town is the type of place where doors being locked at night was something you did when you thought about it. You can quite literally see people watching over their shoulders now in the parking lots. I am saddened to think what the world is coming to when people minding their own business can't enjoy a picnic at the beach in broad daylight.
