My mini farm.

I am beginning to see my plans coming together and I like it. For a while it felt like I was learning about and working on a bunch of projects that had no clear connection to one another. I am now seeing these projects come together in the form of a bigger plan. The bigger plan is one that include living as sustainably as possible. By raising a garden I am able to can or freeze the majority of our produce needs. Some of this I purchase as the local farmer's market but I am moving towards growing it all ourselves. Baking and making all of our food from scratch eliminates trips to the store and that means fewer impulse buys. Soon we will be raising a few backyard chickens which will mean I no longer have to pay a premium for farm fresh eggs. Buying in bulk means a lower food bill and less trash in the bin. Recycling is free and we like free!
