Always amazed...

This week I set up the new computer that my youngest son received from his cyber charter school. He will begin a kindergarten program for 4 year old children next month. I am always amazed by how technology savvy children are today. Even at his tender age he is able to navigate the internet will a degree of certainty that some adults do not have. I am now able to let him get on a website like PBS or Starfall and not need to do everything for him. It wouldn't surprise me if by the end of the school year he is logging onto websites entirely on his own. Of course I am always in the room when he is on the computer to keep him from accidentally ending up on a different website. I like being able to sit next to him and get some work done or even browse various websites like cheapestautoinsurance.net while he is doing his own thing. I can imagine having been given a computer in kindergarten when I was a child but today it is no big thing apparently.
