Sitting in the basement.

The East coast has been hit by a tremendous heat wave this week. Our temperatures have been topping out at nearly 100 degrees. It is almost unbearable. I am dreaming of the days when we will once again need snow boots, mittens, and winter hats. We are fortunate to have a finished basement. This basement has been our saving grace for the last couple of days. The temperature in the basement is around 75 degrees. This might not sound that cold until you consider that our upstairs temperature is 91 degrees with half a dozen fans running at full blast. I am tempted to have everyone sleep in the basement tonight because I doubt the upstairs is going to cool off enough for us to get any rest. Our garden is about the only thing loving these sweltering temperatures.
