A quiet day.

There are days that I just am so thankful for and today was one of them. The first thing that made today great was the fact that the heat wave we have been experiencing here in the East finally broke. There is just something about temperatures hovering around 100 degrees that make life difficult. I realize that there are people who live with these type of temperatures routinely but we aren't among them and just aren't used to that type of heat. We also got rain today! This was very much needed after having a heat wave. Our rain barrels are now filled for the next dry period which is a comfort. I love knowing I don't have to pay the city to water my garden. Using a rain barrels is so simple I can't understand why more people don't do it. The final thing that made today great was the fact that I didn't have to go anywhere. There were no summer camps to drive children to or swimming classes. It was nice to be able to enjoy the cooler weather and rain from the comfort of my house rather than the car.
