All is good.
About 6 weeks ago we made our first batch of homemade soap. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about how it would all turn out. You see all of the members of my family have very sensitive skin and are prone to getting eczema. I really wondered how gentle homemade soap would be for us and if we might end of being allergic. As it turns out homemade soap is very gentle despite some of the harsh chemical needed to make it. You would think that anything containing lye would be terrible for your skin. The reality is that all soap is made with lye. Without lye you cannot make cold pressed soap. Since our first batch of soap I have made an additional batch of shaving soap for my husband. He has been using it daily without incident and I love the way it smells. It doesn't have that overly manly or soapy scent that shaving cream often has. It also lasts a really long time which is awesome. I can't wait to try other types and scents of soap after this batch gets used up.
