Simple living.
It wasn't too long ago that I prided myself on saving tons of money using coupons to buy groceries. I would say maybe 6 month to a year ago to be exact. Then slowly I began to realize that most of the food I was buying was really not real food. When you read the labels on many prepared food products you will find a list of ingredient that don't resemble food at all. My thinking shifted towards buying organic food. This lasted for quite a while but I was still buying prepared food. As I have learned more about eating real food my focus has become on eating "slow food" and living simply. Slow food is the food that our grandparents would recognize as food. Food that takes time to prepare and has real wholesome and natural ingredients. Food that is not full of junk. There is something so satisfying about eating this way that I cannot describe. Not only is it good for our bodies but it is good for our world. We aren't filling our garbage can with tons of trash from boxes and jars. We aren't relying on big box supermarkets to feed us. Our business is going to a local supplier or small family businesses and we are living sustainably. Our children are going to grow up able to provide a wholesome meal for themselves if they need to and not be reliant on the "system" to provide for them.
