Garden grow...

This weekend we built our first raised garden bed. For the most part it was pretty easy thing to do. What I was not prepared for is just how much dirt it would take to fill the beds. We brought home two truckloads of dirt and I am quite sure we could stand to bring home at least two more. The dirt settled significantly after our last big rain storm. Now all we need to do is put up a fence to keep the rabbits out and start planting. We have started several plants inside and are just waiting for the risk of frost to end in our part of the country. My children cannot wait to get out in the dirt and dig around. I think it is going to be hard to get them to understand at first that the garden is not a big sand box. I probably should just let them go out there and get the digging out of their systems before we actually put the plants into the garden.
