It isn't cheap.
My husband very rarely looks at the receipt when I buy groceries. He acknowledges that when it comes to buying groceries I always tend to pinch pennies. For some reason this week he decided to look at the receipt and acted a little surprised by the amount. I had to explain to him that eating healthy is not nearly as cost efficient as buying a ton of processed and sugar packed foods. After buy a few best weight loss supplements, healthy proteins, and numerous vegetables the amount I spent rose pretty quickly. The thing I keep reminding him of is that this is money we will not be spending later in life to take care of various ailments we get as a result of not taking proper care of ourselves earlier in life. What we do today will impact how healthy we are for years to come and that is money well spent in my opinion.
