Do you decorate?
This year I am looking for inspiration to decorate for Valentine's day. My kids look forward to it and I am trying to think of fun activities for them. In the past I have got my biggest vase and filled it with red Christmas bulbs and tied a pretty pink ribbon around it. It was a fun and cute change for us. I have forbidden DH from buying flowers at V-day b/c they are sooooo expensive! I have a hearth wreath that is made out of grape vine stuff and I put some flowers on one side with a pink bow. It used to go on my door, but at my new place it doesn't go with the door so I'll put it on the wall.I also do a little more in the kids’ play/family room. I put a paper heart board around the room that looks like conversation hearts. And I painted a few hearts to look like conversation hearts that we put in the room. I LOVE making a nice dinner on Valentine's for the whole family and then let the kids decorate the dining room. I print hearts (just an outline) on different scrapbook papers and they get to cut them out and wallpaper the dining room. We find anything red and formal that we can to put on the table, and they make place cards. They help me make a red drink/punch/ice cream float for dinner, and we cut out more hearts and write all the special things about DH on them and "heart attack" his bedroom door. I always dress everyone in red or pink, and I buy cheap flowers from the grocery store (like pixie carnations or daisies) for the centerpiece, and they usually last about 2 weeks, so we enjoy them for awhile.
