Not total hippies..

It always interests me to hear what people think of our philosophy on living. I know many people who think we must be hippies because we home school our children, have a garden, raise chickens, bike to work, and compost. There are other people who think we are prepper's preparing for the end of the world. Another group assume that we must be ultraconservative Christians trying to protect our children from a sinful world. I have met people who make the judgment before knowing us that we must not believe in immunizations and that are children have to be socially challenged. It all just makes me laugh. The reality is that are just trying to live frugally, sustainably, and raise kids who are happy and well educated.
