Mushroom growing...

Last weekend I embarked on a new project - growing oyster mushrooms. Everyone I know this I am a little crazy to be trying to grow mushrooms in my house. I realize that most people just think it is easier to buy these types of things from the store. Yes, that is true and it is probably cheaper but it really is not as much fun. I now have 5 bags of substrate that have a decent amount of spawn colonizing them. It is too early to know for sure if my experiment will be successful but things look good at this point. It will be another 2 weeks before the bags of substrate are colonized enough to allow them to start fruiting. The biggest thing to watch out for now is molds growing as opposed to spawn.
