Food prices...

I don't consider myself a doomsday type person. I however believe in preparing for what may come in the future. I like knowing that I have a certain amount of food on hand should something. This week I read information suggesting that food prices will skyrocket in the coming year. This seems completely plausible considering what is happening with oil prices. In case you didn't know there is a link between oil prices and food prices. The higher the price of oil the higher the prices on our supermarket shelves. I personally intend to combat this problem by growing as much food myself as possible and to source local low costs sources to meet our food needs. There have been reports in the last few weeks that oil reserves have been grossly overestimated and that we are very near peak oil levels.
