Why does he do it?
My father is an impulsive buyer of what ofter equates to being junk. He has been known to buy tons of useless stuff with grand plans of fixing these items up and selling them for a profit. What usually happens is the items end up laying around untouched until he hauls them to the dump or takes them to auction. This week he stopped by to tell us about his latest acquisition. He describes it as being a huge boat complete with a cabin and sleeping area. He believes it just needs a wee bit of work to be sea ready. My mother, on the other hand, told me it will take a lifetime for him to finish. This is a good thing because my dad doesn't really think things through. I can see him putting this big old boat in the water and subsequently doing something that results in him needing a Jones Act lawyer or something. He has asked my husband to help him restore the boat so that they can use it together. My husband has agreed to be part of the project but also knows that my Mom and I expect him to work very slowly!
