I have reached capacity.

At the beginning of the summer I had purchased around 30 dozen canning jars. Over the course of the summer I purchased around another 10-12 dozen cases of jars. Last night I canned my final batch of applesauce to round out my canning for the year. The total number of jars I filled with one thing or another came out to be 527 jars or just over 43 dozen cases of jars! I know that at the beginning of the year my husband had serious doubts about whether or not I would ever fill all of those jars. In the end I didn't have enough jars to meet my goals for a few things and wish I had about 4-8 dozen more quart jars. It is just about impossible to find quart jars in this area at this time of year. I am going to have to throw in the towel and proclaim this canning season as over unless I strike gold and find some jars soon.
