Raised by wolves.

There is a child in our neighborhood that has me concerned. The boy never seems to spend any time at home. For whatever reason he is perpetually roaming the streets either on his bike or by foot. The other day he was riding his bicycle up the middle of the street in midday traffic. I thought for sure he was going to be hit because he kept looking behind himself rather than ahead at the traffic. I am not sure exactly what house he lives in because I have only ever seen him in motion. The child seems to lack a fear of anything and this seems unusual to me.

One day I watched him trying to place stuff in the road for cars to run over. He seemed very interested in the effect a vehicle in motion would have on the objects he was putting in the road. He appears old enough to recognize the danger of a busy street and yet somehow agile and smart enough to navigate through life despite the risks he takes. I can only hope that as he gets older he has the sense to look into what his risky behavior is going to do to his life insurance rate. Can you imagine what this child would be like behind the wheel? I would hate to see how he would take on heavy traffic. You have to wonder exactly who is looking out for this kid and why he is doing the things he is doing.
