Press baby press....

As I sit here typing my husband is trying to find plans online to build me a cheese press. I made Monterey Jack cheese for the first time tonight and it worked out pretty well aside from not having a real cheese press. The total cost of a pound of cheese was about $2.00 not including the supplies to get started. These will average out over the course of 40-50 pounds of cheese to a very small sum of less that a dollar per pound. I don't know about you but the cost of cheese in our house is outrageous when you have kids that each cheese like crackers. I know it will take a little bit more practice to get a block of aged cheese but even if all I ever make is pizza cheese I figure I am ahead of the game.
