Do you really think people ever get sick of receiving stuff like home made dish cloths? I crochet and knit , and I usually knit dish cloths all the time for Christmas. My mom ( God bless her anyway) tells me "oh i don't need any more". I figure even if I give them every year, you can throw away the old ones. What do you think? I love the homemade dishcloths I make for myself. Nothing else seems to be as thick or stand up as well.
I also make my own scrubbers out of the courser tulle. Just cut long strips and crochet like you would for the dishcloth. Or you can crochet a string of 5, then make a ring, crochet 5 and single crochet back to the ring (twice), then start to crochet 5 and attach randomly in any of the 3 loops you have making it into more of a ball. Just knot off at end of strip and attach more strips as needed like you would for an afghan to change colors.
