Big plans.

We are attempting gardening for the first time this year. My older son is completely behind this plan and has a vast number of ideas for our garden. The thing I am having a hard time convincing him of is that certain types of things such as Plum trees don't just bear fruit in a few weeks. He is looking for instant gratification and with the type of garden he is planning that just isn't going to happen. Part of me wants to indulge his ideas so he will grasp what I am trying to tell him. The other part of me just wants to put my foot down and tell him that we are only growing vegetables this year.
