Chitting potatoes...

We just spent a very romantic evening in our house. The children are tucked in bed and my husband and I had a couple hours to ourselves. We decided to put the time to go use and sat around the table talking. As we talked we chitted our potatoes. This is the process by which you prepare potatoes for planting. We are getting a bit of a late start on our community garden plot because of the rain. The ground is just too wet to plow or plant. We are hoping that our potatoes may get in the ground next weekend. Either way it was fun to sit with my husband and decide what is the "rose" end of a potato.
