Not my job.

Every year I take charge of the all of our Christmas shopping. When it is all said and done my husband and I end of having at least one argument about what we end up giving his parents for Christmas. You see he gives me the go ahead to buy a certain gift for each of his parents but then later also goes out and gets them his own gift. The reality is that we end up spending twice as much on them as we do for my family. It drives me insane because we don't have that kind of money to spend. His parents lavish gifts on us because they can and I suppose he feels we need to reciprocate in some way. This year I am stepping back an not offering to buy any gifts. I am just going to wait and see what he comes up with. I am hoping that the result will be less expensive. This year it will not be my job!
