The basics...
There are many things I loved about having been married for almost 20 years. One thing I love is those unspoken agreements that are developed over time. For example my husband and I rarely have to discuss how we will spend money. It just goes without saying that neither of us makes purchases over a certain amount without talking about it first. Another rule we have is in terms of our gift buying for each other. We make sure that we give our children a great Christmas but we don't go crazy buying for each other. The gifts we do buy are practical and needed. I like knowing that my husband is happy with underwear and socks. I can't imagine trying to meet the expectations that some of my friends are expected to meet in their marriages.
