Canning

'm not into canning, but my friend is and she has called me everyday for the last three days to tell me what she has gotten accomplished. She put up 40 quarts of peaches yesterday. And green beans the day before that. Today she had just finished husking 100 ears of corn and then she will cook those, cut the kernels off the ears and freeze them. I told her, "Sounds like you have enough food stored away for the winter for your whole family. Are you a squirrel or a nut? She laughed and said that after doing so much work she felt like a nutty squirrel." I could believe that. She said it's really fun though and that I should try it...yeah, right, I'd rather her just bring me the peaches and corn and let me eat them without my doing any of the work!
