I am not a huge fan of fabric softener as it seems to make my allergies go crazy and my tongue swell up. A friend of mine told me that she hardly ever buys it but does use it. This is her trick for saving money on fabric softener:
Bottles of fabric softener do not need to be used straight. Instead, save an old, empty bottle or a milk carton; pour in 1 cup of fabric softener and add water to fill the container. Shake and use this for your clothes. As it empties, refill using the same measurements. Your softener will last you 4-5 times longer, and the clothes will never know the difference!
