Use url rewriting to encode the parameters of long urls to make them SE friendly:

this:
yoursite.com/dealers.php?product=widget&country=france
becomes:
yoursite.com/dealers/widget/france/

and

Always use 301 redirects if you delete a file or change a file name no other redirect is of any use, speaking of which never change a badly worded file name if it is indexed, only change it if there is a space frontpage%20tutorials.htm as this is bad at any time and use the 301 redirect.
